‘Burg schools ready reunion
If you ever attended, taught at or worked for Gold-Burg, Stoneburg or Ringgold Schools, attend the Gold-Burg All-School Reunion on Sept. 27-28.
The reunion will be in conjunction with the Bears’ football homecoming game on Sept. 27. The reunion will be Sept. 28 in the Gold-Burg Cafeteria. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. and the meal will begin at 5:30 p.m.
This year the meal will be catered. It is very important you RSVP if you plan to attend to provide an accurate number for the caterer. Cost for the meal will be per person.
Admission by donation. Donations are used to finance the reunion meal as well as scholarships given to Gold-Burg seniors. This year’s scholarship recipients were Blake Allen and Jacob Belt.
Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
