Cruisin’ Nocona modified after auction is cancelled

The Vicari Car Auction may be canceled, but Nocona is still cruisin’ with activities May 29-30.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has canceled many events including the car auction the Nocona Chamber of Commerce has revised some of its activities to continue the event. No cruise registration or fee required. There is a $25 fee for optional poker run.
On May 29 starting at 6 p.m. the burn-out Contest will be at the Nocona Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at 100 Baylor by the Gas Junkies. It will be followed by a hamburger cook-out for donations to the Veteran’s Heritage Park project.
Starting at 9 a.m. on May 30 enjoy a poker cruise. Vehicles will line up beside the post office for the 9 a.m. start. Fee is $25. Participants are invited to order a lunch from a local restaurant and enjoy it at the auction house where prizes will be presented between 1-2 p.m.

Bowie fish fry to assist youth fair sales on Jan. 4

Enjoy a fish fry and live music concert on Jan. 4 all to support the 4-H and FFA youth of Montague County as they compete in the annual youth fair.
The annual Bowie fish fry for the Bowie buyers group will begin serving at 5:30 p.m. at the Bowie Community Center. Cost is $10 per plate. There will be a live auction at 7 p.m.
The evening’s concert will feature Dax Davis. Live music begins at 8:30 p.m. with the Davis concert at 9:30 p.m. Cost for the concert is $25 per ticket and $20 for a student, or $300 for a reserved table for eight.
