Native American artist to speak at TNT general membership meeting

Make plans to attend the 2021 annual general membership meeting of the Tales ‘N’ Trails Museum on June 26 featuring New Mexico artist Nocona Burgess.
This meeting is open for museum members at no cost and $10 for non-members.
Burgess will discuss his Comanche heritage and how it inspires and influences his art. A direct descendant of the great Comanche Chiefs Peta Nocona and Quanah Parker, Nocona Burgess promotes the history and stories of his family, the Comanche Nation and other Native American tribes through his art.
The general membership meeting will be from 2-4 p.m. on June 16 at the museum located at 1522 W. U.S. Highway 82 in Nocona. Call 825-5330 for more information or visit talesntrails.org.

Bowie Rural serving up annual fish fry

The Bowie Rural Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual fish fundraiser on Sept. 28 with serving starting at 5:30 p.m. until it’s gone at the Bowie Community Center.
The event includes a prize drawing, auction and live band with all proceeds going to the Bowie Rural VFD.
