The Gold-Burg Bears earned their third win of the season as they blew out Chillicothe on the road Friday night.
The Bears won by halftime due to the mercy rule 60-7 against the Eagles.
Playing in its first road game of the season, Gold-Burg did not have to deal with lightning like every other county team did on Friday night. The Bears still made sure to make it a short night for the third straight game.
Despite some early penalties, especially down on the goal line, being the only negatives to take away from the game, Gold-Burg was still up multiple score halfway through the first quarter and 52-0 heading into the second quarter.
From there the team worked in back-up players and tried some other things so the score would not get run up any more.
The Bears only outscored Chillicothe 8-7 in the quarter with the game already wrapped up as they won 60-7 at halftime.
Jayon Grace scored three rushing touchdowns and rushed for 127 yards on four carries. He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.
Aidan Foster rushed 54 yards and one touchdown while forcing a fumble on defense. Ethan Rotrouck also forced a fumble and then recovered it on defense.
Levi Hellinger threw for 50 yards and two touchdowns, completed to Paul Jones and Eli Freeland. Keelyn Case had one carry on offense and took it 23 yards for a touchdown.
On special teams, Jayton Epperson returned a kick-off for a touchdown and Zander Crawford recovered an onside kick. Foster made two extra-point attempts before Jorge Montes stepped up to make his only attempt.
