Nocona Chamber readies banquet

There are still a few tables left to decorate for the April 15 Nocona Chamber of Commerce banquet.
Members are invited to promote their business with table decorations or use the theme which is “In Full Bloom.” There will be an award for best decorated table.
The banquet will be from 6-8 p.m. on April 15 in the H.J. Justin Building in downtown Nocona. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
The evening’s program will include awards for Citizen of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Volunteer Organization of the Year. Nominations for the awards were recently concluded. New directors and officers also will be introduced.

Montague County Grand Jury issues November indicted cases

The following indictments were filed with the 97th District Clerk following the November session of the Montague County Grand Jury.
There were a total of 13 indictments with one sealed awaiting the arrest of a suspect.
A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

New transformer arrives at Bowie substation

The new transformer was placed on its pad when it arrived at the City of Bowie electrical substation last Friday. Installation of this 20 Mva transformer, which is larger than the two 1992 original 12.5 units, will begin this week and come on line early in the new year. (Courtesy photos)
