Sunset teen win grand champion at Fort Worth
Jackson Grace, Sunset captured grand champion mature female with Black Cadillac in the TLBBA Open Division Longhorn Show at the 2019 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo on Jan. 23. The 2019 show is hosting exhibitors from across the nation competing for awards and $87,200 in beef cattle premiums.
Of the 33,000 entries at the nation’s longest-running livestock show, the livestock exhibited by the more than 11,500 junior exhibitors are among the best market animals in the country.
Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
