Commissioners ready two meetings on Monday

The Montague County Commissioners will conduct two meetings on March 8.
The public hearing at 8:45 a.m. will consider vacating the last 400 feet of Weaver Road in precinct four.
During Monday’s 9 a.m. session the court will go into executive session to discuss how to fill the unexpired term of constable one. It has almost four years left on it.
Former Constable One Stefanie Horton was named to fill out the term of the late Justice of the Peace One David Allen, who passed away in January.
Other topics: Update from the Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District; consider the authority of monthly payments to retirees, highway patrol cell phone reimbursements, salary transfer and sewer plant custodian monthly payments; sheriff’s racial profiling report; rescind an order for a rental agreement; unanticipated revenue in precinct four and disbursement of Fund 75 between precincts three and four.

Brazos Electric Coop hosting public meeting on line project

The staff of Brazos Electric Cooperative will host a public meeting to share information and receive feedback on a proposed 138kV transmission line project in Montague County.
This meeting will be from 4-6 p.m. on July 27 in the H.J. Justin Building, 100 Clay, Nocona.

This come-and-go public meeting will provide information and seek input on the rebuild and upgrade of a 14-mile transmission line. The propoosed 138kV double-circuit transmission line will connect the existing Alcorn Substation on Salmon Road with the existing Capps Corner Substation on Farm-to-Market Road 1956 and FM 677. The proposed right-of-way width for the new transmission line is 70 feet.
Attendees will be able to make comments, ask questions and share concerns with Brazos representatives and technical specialists from Oaklight Environmental Consulting.
