FOOTBALL: King Rainey saves Gold-Burg’s night

Homecoming King Colt Rainey threw a game-winning 19-yard touchdown pass to Billy Rogers as Gold-Burg defeated visiting Founders Classical Academy 36-28.
Rainey’s touchdown came with 9 minutes, 1 second left in the fourth quarter, and he later snared a game-saving interception on defense when Founders Classical advanced the ball to the Bears’ 4-yard line.
Gold-Burg staved off a Founders Classical squad that scored two fourth-quarter TDs.
“Our kids kept a cool head to win,” Gold-Burg head coach Jay Johnson said. “We’re pleased and excited coming away with a win.”
Josh Belt added four TD runs, the longest from 78 yards away. Read more in the mid-week Bowie News.
