Bowie Intermediate undergoes principal shake-up

The new school year in Bowie School District will ring in with departures and reassignment of several longtime staff members.

During executive session with the board of trustees Monday night, Superintendent Steven Monkres presented staff changes and hires to the board for review.

In resignations, longtime Bowie coach Tommy Tomlinson will be leaving to take the softball coaching position at Chico High School. He has been employed with the district for 37 years.

There will be a full shake-up of administration at the intermediate school as Sean McBeath, principal, will be reassigned. Monkres said those duties have not been determined at this time. His assistant principal, Becca Hill also resigned to take a position at Northwest ISD.

Several old friends also will be returning to Bowie ISD campuses. Read the full story in the mid-week News.
