Saint Jo NIE 2015 Week 2

Exciting opening week

Saint Jo Elementary has had an exciting first week of school! It has been great to see all of the familiar faces, as well as all of the new students that have enrolled.
Students have been doing a lot of fun interactive projects already this year.
The sixth grade students participated in team building exercises on the first day, while the fifth grade students have been building and setting off rockets.
The students are excited and ready to receive their iPads next week. Students will also each receive a t-shirt to celebrate Saint Jo’s High-Progress Reward School distinction from the Texas Education Agency.
Responsibility was the Great Expectations life principle for the first week. Students learned that responsibility is making the choice to be reliable and dependable. Principal Denise Thurman talked about the importance of responsibility this week.
The PTO met on Aug. 20 to elect officers for the 2015-2016 school year. The following officers were elected: Laurie Martin, president; Brandi Dunn, vice president; Kirsten Goff, treasurer; Shanda Stewart, secretary; and Carlee Sampson, reporter.
If you would like to join the Saint Jo Elementary PTO please call Saint Jo Elementary School at 995-2541.
