The Bowie Chamber of Commerce directors have relaunched their search for a new executive director and are taking applications.
Van Baize, chamber board president, said the candidate the board selected after a series of lengthy interviews had declined the job offer after deciding to return to college to get a teaching certification.
The chamber is replacing its former Executive Director Sheila Slattery who returned to her dog training business at the end of January. Baize said the board hopes to get the position filled as soon as possible.
Applications can be submitted to Baize at Wellington State Bank. He said they will be submitted to a selection committee for review and to schedule interviews.
Directors still are meeting at noon the second Tuesday of each month at the Wellington Bank meeting room. Chamber members and guests are welcome to attend.
