BOWIE – Earl Jones, 91, died March 31, 2017 in Bowie, TX.
A funeral service was at 10 a.m. April 4 in the chapel of The White Family Funeral Home.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service at The White Family Funeral Home. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery.
Jones was born Oct. 2,1925 in Bowie to Jim and Emma (Creel) Jones. He graduated from Bowie High School and served his country in the United States Army during WWII.
Jones married Louella Fuller on Aug. 28, 1948 in Bellevue. He worked in the oilfield for Wichita Construction, Al Inman and Ray Harlow oilfield companies. Jones worked for General Dynamics for nine years and later owned and operated Jones Salvage and Wrecker Service in Bowie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Emma Jones; wife, Louella Jones; and brothers, Elbert Jones and Louell Jones.
He is survived by his children, Becky Conrad and David Jones both of Bowie; five grandchildren; step-grandchild, Tim Conrad; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
