John “Duane” Fisher

BOWIE — John “Duane” Fisher, 82, died July 7, 2017 in Bowie.
A funeral service was at 10 a.m. July 11 in the chapel of The White Family Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial followed at Briar Creek Cemetery.
Fisher was born Feb. 16,1935 in Lewistown, PA to John and Pearl (Knepp) Fisher. He graduated high school in Lewistown, PA and then attended LeTourneau University in Longview.
Fisher owned and worked on diesel trucks. He worked as a police officer in Fort Worth, TX for 18 years. Duane married Kathy Bannister on November 27,1991 in Fort Worth.
He was a music minister at several churches during his life. Duane was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bowie. He enjoyed riding his Harley and being with his dog “Rudy.”
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Fisher.
Fisher is survived by his wife, Kathy, Bowie; numerous friends; and his church family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
