The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has establishing the 2017-18 hunting season for various birds.
“For the second straight year, Texas will be taking advantage of a 90-day dove season,” said Dave Morrison, TPWD Wildlife Division deputy director.
Other notable changes for the season include a reduction in the daily bag limit on pintail to just one, a shirt in the opening date for sandhill crane hunting season in Zone B and increasing the youth-age restriction for waterfowl hunting to 16 years old.
Federal duck stamp requirements remain unchanged. Read more, and see the complete schedule, in the July 12 Bowie News.
North Zone: Sept. 1-Nov. 12 and Dec. 15-31.
The daily bag limit for doves statewide is 15, and the possession limit is 45. Other special provisions apply during special white-winged dove days from Sept. 2-3, 9-10.
