After winning the program’s first state title since 1974, the Bowie boys basketball team will be without their head coach next season.
Doug Boxell confirmed to the Times Record News this past weekend he is planning to resign and take the head coach position at Krum. Action on his selection is set for the Krum school board meeting Wednesday.
Boxell and Bowie Athletic Director Dylan Stark did not want to comment to the News until things were official. Boxell has not submitted a written resignation, but told the district late last week he had accepted the Krum position pending approval. The job was posted Friday on the Region 9 job board.
