TNT membership meeting planned for June 15

Tales ‘N’ Trails Museum in Nocona will present its general membership meeting from 1 to 4 p.m. on June 15 at the museum located at 1522 E. U.S. Highway 82.
The feature of this meeting will be a flintknapping demonstration by archeologist Sergio Ayala, who has been working on researching and aging many of the artifacts in the museum’s collection. This is free to all TNT membership.
If you would like to get an even closer look at flintknapping a hands-on demonstration with Ayala is being offered at $20 per person with a six-person limit with advanced reservation. The fee includes safety equipment and tools. Call the museum to reserve a place in this demo.
During the annual membership meeting there will be a presentation on activities at the museum along with an election of officers. Those with questions may call the museum at 825-5330.

Post-pandemic world changes all marketing

The big take-away from Tuesday’s Bowie Business Boost was time: “It only takes six seconds to make an impression in life.”
Lorie Vincent, certified economic developer, professional trainer and writer, was speaker for program number three of Bowie Boost with a focus on “Memorable Marketing in a Post-Pandemic Era.”
She opened about how she had started her business, ‘Acceleration by Design,’ and things were “rocking,” when 2020 came and things changed with the worldwide pandemic. As things began to reopen it appeared there were more opportunities but also more challenges.
Vincent laughed as she showed a Richard Simmons “Sweating to the Oldies,” infomercial that became one of the most popular and still running ads.
“Can you believe back then we would call a 1-800 number and give someone our credit card? That is crazy. They used big music, big voices and big adjectives,” exclaimed Vincent.
