‘Cluckin’ good time at Chicken & Bread Days
Chicken and Bread Days Heritage Festival usually marks the beginning of the cooler autumn season, but Saturday’s festival was full of people and sunshine as the temperature topped 93 degrees.
The streets of downtown Bowie were filled with visitors enjoying live fiddle music competition, festival food, kid’s games, more than 100 colorful classic cars, unique art and historic quilts. Cindy Roller, director of Bowie Community Development, said it was another great success which would not have been possible without the support of the city, sponsors, chamber, BCD board members, Beautify Our Bowie and so many volunteers. Read the full story in your mid-week Bowie News and see results from the fiddle contest, art show and quilt show.
