Commissioners vote to hire a temporary septic licensing agent

Montague County Commissioners voted Monday to hire a temporary septic system licensing agent, following the recent death of longtime agent Eddie Fenoglio.
Working as the licensing agent since the mid-1990s, Fenoglio died on Oct. 12. County Judge Kevin Benton said he had talked with officials with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality who agreed to assist the county temporarily with permitting, but emphasized they do not have enough manpower to do that for long.
The court went into executive session for about 40 minutes discussing the personnel options. Back in open session, Benton said the best bet at this point appears to be hiring an interim person while the court researches what is needed and appoints a new agent.
