Commissioners may lift burn ban Monday

Montague County Commissioners will consider lifting the ban on outdoor burning when they meet at 9 a.m. on Monday.
The burn ban has been in place since Feb. 22. Often the ban is a like cloud-seeding with rain falling shortly thereafter. This time was no different. February came to an end with a total of 2.07 inches of rainfall. March in its opening two weeks has seen 2.82 inches.
Other action items on the agenda include an update on projects stemming from Federal Emergency Management Administration Agency disaster funds.
The county’s property insurance renewal will be reviewed along with the of Compsync software in the sheriff’s office.
Precinct two will consider accepting three lots from the City of Bowie and accepting Sandy Lane as a county road. Various tax sale bids also will be considered.
