The Pride of the Tribe Nocona High School Marching Band began its season with a new slogan and a new band director, as Patrick Flaniken joined the Indians.
Flaniken was introduced at the end of the last school year as Andrew Herrera, director from 2012 to 2015, left the district to be orchestra director at Sam Houston High School near San Antonio.
The 47-year-old Flanikan brings 23 years of experience to the Tribe. He comes to the Nocona Independent School District from Flatonia where he spent one year as elementary principal. Music called him back to the band hall.
