CROSS COUNTRY: Bowie, Bellevue run at Burkburnett Thursday

Most of the area cross country teams will begin with meets during the next couple of weeks.
Like Bowie, Bellevue will open the 2016 season on Sept. 1 at the Perkins Invitational in Burkburnett.
The Eagles will then compete at the Midwestern State University Stampede set for Sept. 8 at Wichita Falls.
Forestburg will open the season at Slidell on Sept. 14, followed by meets at Jacksboro’s Fort Richardson State Park on Sept. 17 and then Alvord.
Prairie Valley opens the season at the Jacksboro Invitational on Sept. 17, followed by Prairie Valley’s own meet at 4 p.m. on Sept. 28.
The University Interscholastic League state meet is set for Nov. 12 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
