The Forestburg High School volleyball team made their second consecutive run into the playoffs, facing highly ranked Dodd City at Lindsay on Friday night.
In the last Texas Girl’s Coaching Association combined conference 1A-2A poll, the Lady Hornets stood seventeenth, making Dodd City one tough opponent for the Lady Horns. Dodd City ultimately defeated Forestburg by 25-14, 27-25 and 25-10.
Dodd City moves to 32-7 for the season. The Lady Hornets played Graford on Monday night in the regional quarter-finals, defeating them 25-18, 25-20, 22-25 and 25-17 to advance to the Region II-1A tournament.
“The Dodd City offense runs through two girls and the team knows how to get the ball to them,” said head coach Cori Hayes. “They’re good and saw the floor well.”
The Lady Horns came out strong in the second set after a difficult first match, leading on the scoreboard on several occasions and taking the Lady Hornets to 27 points. Read more in the Nov. 9 Bowie News.
