The Bowie High School Bass Club wrapped up its first-ever participation in a Texas High School Bass Association tournament.
“I was extremely pleased with the whole deal,” BHS Bass Club coordinator Trent Gillaspia said. “We caught some fish. Everyone was able to weigh one fish and cross the stage. I think the final results are good for us.”
Gillaspia said the weather conditions – which including some cloudiness – made for a tolerable day.
Gillaspia said it was easier for Bowie to reel in smaller fish rather than larger ones.
“It was a tough day to catch bigger fish,” he said. Bites came farther and fewer between as the day went on.
The tournament took place at Joe Pool Lake in Cedar Hill, moved from Lake Ray Hubbard in Forney.
