The Bowie Lady Rabbits closed out their four-game homestand with another Saturday afternoon match against Holliday in District 3A-9 play.
The team fell to 16-15 overall, and 1-4 in 3A-9 after a Holliday got the upper hand in five sets by scores of 25-18, 18-25, 25-14, 22-25 and 15-13.
“I thought we were evenly matched,” Bowie head coach Jeanie Stark said. “Both teams did a good job of keeping the ball in play. They didn’t have as many errors as we did.”
It all came down to the fifth set.
And Bowie helped Holliday with a couple of missed serves as well as four hitting errors along the front row.
Stark said it was a competitive match, especially noting how the Lady Rabbits and Lady Eagles kept trading out sets.
