CROSS COUNTRY: Pound nabs fifth at WF Invitational

The Bowie High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Wichita Falls Invitational this past Thursday at Kiwanis Park in Wichita Falls.
Brittney Pound raced in with the fastest time in the girls’ junior varsity race, clocking in with a time of 13 minutes, 45.13 seconds for fifth.
Maylie Short was next among Lady Rabbits in 11th spot, 14:08.36. Lauren Gill took 17th overall in 14:57.86.
Courtney Brady, Valerie Walker and Carli Shields finished 21st through 23rd, respectively, with Brady clocking in at 15:09.48.
Bryce Benson was in 39th. Other Bowie girls ran as well, Madison Hill (48th), Lily Gill (55th), Jordan Brightwell (59th), Chloe Polk (60th), Blanca Guerrero (62nd), Kalee Case (72nd) and Shelby Witt (74th). Read more results in the mid-week Bowie News.
