BOWIE VOLLEYBALL: Lady Rabbits now playoff contender

The Bowie Lady Rabbits played host to Paradise Friday night in a battle of teams in the middle of District 9-3A.
Bowie secured a crucial district win – improving to 18-15, 3-4 district mark – after a victory in four sets by the scores of 25-21, 21-16, 17-25, 25-12.
“That was by far the most aggressive district match we’ve played,” said head coach Jeanie Stark. “Even when they won the third set, we came right back at them. We took their offense from them.”
She said a specific play in the second set in which Taylor Thompson dug a ball up from the floor “symbolized the effort in the match.”
Stark added the support from a loud home audience – featuring a few members of the football program – was also a factor.
