The Bowie High School football team keeps playing competitive games, but the losing streak is now at six straight games.
However, the Jackrabbits fell to 1-7 and 0-3 in district 4-3A-I after a 23-6 loss at Buckaroos Stadium.
“I didn’t feel like they played as good as they had the past couple weeks,” said head coach Dylan Stark. “There were some missed opportunities against a physical team.”
However the defense recorded a few huge stops to keep the score close as Breckenridge entered halftime with a 14-0 lead.
“They definitely had some huge stops,” Stark said. “The defense has been getting better every week.”
But the offense was only able to muster one scoring drive which ended with Trace Hardee finding Chase Hall from 14 yards out in the fourth quarter.
“We took a lot of shots with Chase,” the coach said. “We were able to cash in that time.”
Stark said he was impressed with the Buckaroos defense, noting it was “probably one of the better defenses we’ve seen all year.”
