Sears makes history

Gold-Burg High School senior Connor Sears made more compound archery history earlier this month at The Vegas Shoot.
Competing Feb. 7-11, Sears, son of David and Pam, finished second overall in the young adult championship in compound archery.
Before that, Sears shot a perfect 900 score in qualifying across three days of competition. That means 90 arrows were all shot for bull’s-eyes.
In the 53 year history of the sport, Sears is only the third person in the young adult amateur division to shoot a perfect 900. Including professionals at the competition, Sears’ 900 was one of 27 completed at the event. Out of 3,767 archers competing, the 900 feat was accomplished by less than one percent of competitors, professional or otherwise.
