2019 values rise for all entities

The 2019 certified property values were released this past week with all 14 entities in Montague County experiencing increases in their values.
Kim Haralson, chief appraiser of the Montague County Tax Appraisal District, said for the first time in several years there was nothing out of the ordinary in the values. Last year the massive state-wide compressor suit was looming and two years prior the high flying days of energy production had waned as minerals fell.
This year each entity saw increases that should provide each of them with a bit of additional tax revenue. Haralson said Saint Jo Independent School District, along with a small part of Nocona and Forestburg ISD will see an increase thanks in part to the $10,067,740 Grand Prix pipeline that is under construction.
The school districts of Gold-Burg, Forestburg, Montague and Saint Jo were reappraised this year.
