Lee Ann Farris named to lead Bowie Intermediate

Bowie School Trustees selected Lee Ann Farris to be the principal for Bowie Intermediate School filling all its administrative vacancies.
The board met in called session Monday afternoon discussing strategic planning and goal setting before going into executive session to discuss the principal job and the school safety plan.
Returning from closed session the board named Farris the new principal to replace Russell Black who recently announced his retirement after four years as principal at the intermediate.

The board also discussed strategic planning, goals and a 90-day action plan for new Superintendent Blake Enlow. Read the full story in the mid-week Bowie News.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
