Commissioners to meet twice this week
Members of the Montague County Commissioners Court will meet in two separate sessions this upcoming week.
The regular meeting will be at 9 a.m. on Sept. 28 in the courthouse annex.
Court members will consider approving dissolutions to the official fire and rescue district map of Montague County and area coverage. There have been a few changes within the departments and a request has been made to update the map.
Approval of the sheriff’s office accepting certified payments for open records will be examined, along with a grant from The Center for Tech and Civic Life for $5,000 for the elections office.

The regular meeting of the Bowie City Council for July 22 has been cancelled. City Manager Bert Cunningham and Mayor Gaylynn Burris will be attending the Texas Public Power Association conference.
City of Bowie officials were on hand to inspect the emergency electrical generators that were delivered last week.
Mayor Gaylynn Burris and City Manager Bert Cunningham inspected one of three emergency electrical generators purchased as part of an ongoing Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant. They also talked with Jay Evans, head of the city electric department, and Jerry Sutton, director of the water treatment plant about the next step for installation of the generators.
This grant provides funding for one 150 kW and two 250 kW generators for use at the water treatment plant.
