HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Bellevue boys overwhelm Forestburg

The Longhorns played a good first quarter, but Bellevue was simply too much en route to a 75-43 District 1A-21 victory at Forestburg on Friday.
“I thought they did pretty well,” said Bellevue coach Colby Broussard of his team. “They got into some foul trouble early, but they buckled down and did a good job.”
Forestburg head coach Steve Sandusky wasn’t happy with the Longhorn defense.
“It was one of our better defensive starts,” Sandusky said. “But, they shot too well and we did not rebound well enough on their misses.”
The closest margin Forestburg managed at the end of a quarter was a six-point deficit after the first.
Bellevue outscored them by eight in the second, 11 in the third and seven in the fourth.
“We have got to improve on shooting and rebounding, period,” Sandusky stressed. “We saw some good things offensively, but are still not shooting well.”
Layne Morris led Bellevue to the win with 24 points.
