Bowie Independent School District Trustees have named Joanne Keeler as the new principal at Bowie High School.
Superintendent Blake Enlow said there were 15 applicants and five were interviewed. The search began several weeks ago when Principal Sergio Menchaca reported he was the lone finalist for the superintendent’s job at Anderson in Terrell County ISD. That board approved him after the required 21-day period. Menchaca has been principal since June 2019 when he took the position after Enlow was named a superintendent.
Keeler comes to BISD from Denton High School where she has been assistant principal since May 2017.
