Bowie High School junior Courtney Brady has been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association Conference 3A all-state team.
Brady was a key cog for a Lady Rabbit basketball team that finished 30-6, went through District 3A-9 undefeated en route to a championship and played in the regional semifinals.
“Courtney had a remarkable season for us,” Bowie head coach Colby Davis-Pastusek said. “She puts a lot of time and effort into her passion playing basketball. This honor is very well-deserved and we are so proud of her.”
Brady made 211-of-504 field goals this season, or 42 percent. She canned 78 3-pointers at a 34 percent clip.
From the free-throw line, Brady made good on 137-of-173 shots (79 percent).
Overall, she posted averages of 18.7 points per game to go with 4.3 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.5 assists per contest.
Those statistics were as of before the season-ending loss to Alba-Golden at Rockwall Heath High School.

Nocona got its new press box into place this week at Jack Crane Stadium. The old press box, which was in place for more than 60 years, was taken out in early June and moved to Indian Valley Raceway. The new press box was by the Southern Bleacher Company out of Graham. Athletic Director Black Crutsinger said they looked at a lot of press boxes and decided they liked the one at Lindsay High School and went with that model. Sean Hutson operated the crane from the Hurd Crane Service that put the press box up for Nocona.
