LOCAL GOLF: Twisted Oaks begins Tuesday scrambles

Tuesday scrambles officially began at Twisted Oaks Golf Club this past Tuesday, and it was a competitive afternoon of golf.
There were 11 tightly-bunched team, with seven of them involved in chip-offs to decide the cash awards.
In a chip-off, the team of Art Ferguson, Jim Terry, Jim Wright and Jon Ward claimed first place.
The foursome of Alan Miller, Dean Yarbro, Chuck Wallace and Ward Wallace placed second. Chris Woolsey, Chase Woolsey and Jon Prestwood took third.
Four teams tied with scores of 16 for the Twisty Team Prize.
Ty Healer was the victor in a chip-off, with teammates Snake Allen, Ken Healer and Don Biehl.
Todd McMurray was closest to the pin on Hole No. 3 and Chase Wolsey on No. 9.
Tuesday scrambles begin at 5:30 p.m. The cost of golf is $10 and an additional $10 for cash awards. The optional closest to the pin goes for $2.
To participate, register by 3 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Memberships
Twisted Oaks Golf Club is currently accepting new memberships.
There is no initiation fee to join.
Some of the benefits of being a member are unlimited cart fee only golf and discounted golf lessons.
However, after June 1, a $300 non-refundable initiation fee will be charged to new members. An increase in the initiation fee is projected once the new golf course is completed.
Members who have joined prior to June 1 will not have to pay an initiation fee.
