Bowie Sports Association presents awards
The Bowie Sports Association, which serves as the sanctioning body for local youth baseball and softball, had its awards night on Monday at Haggar Sports Complex.
Awards were given to players in all three T-ball divisions: boys, girls and coed.
Trophies also were given to the first- and second-place winners in several other divisions.
Bowie Sports Association Commissioner Dean Cage read the names of all boys and girls that were present to receive their awards.
Today marks the start of a series of photo pages of local baseball and softball teams in The Bowie News.
The series will run for the next several issues, wrapping up with T-ball.
The Dirt Diamonds were the top team in the girls’ 12-under division. Terry Gunter is the head coach, and Stacy Gamblin is the assistant. The team featured the following girls, Camberly Gunter, Abbi Gamblin, Aslyn Davis, Jasmine Jones, Emily Moore, Taylor Kirkham, Lilyann Martinez, Emily Hanson, Dalia Esquivel, Danna Valdez and Breanna Densitt.
