The Bowie High School volleyball team had another District 3A-9 opponent right where it wanted on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Rabbits were up two games to one and had what seemed to be a comfortable lead in the fourth set.
However, Paradise rallied to defeat Bowie by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 13-25, 26-24, 15-9. The loss dropped. The loss dropped the Lady Rabbits to 19-18 overall, 4-7 in 3A-9.
The loss stings more because Bowie will now likely miss the playoffs.
Tuesday’s match versus Nocona will be for Montague County pride, however, as the Lady Rabbits and Lady Indians play for the second time this season.
“We didn’t begin, manage, and most importantly, end the match on Saturday,” Bowie head coach Jeanie Stark said. “We were able to pick up our game and take sets Nos. 2 and 3, but then couldn’t hold on to a comfortable 17-10 lead (in the fourth set).
