HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: TABC ranks both Bowie boys, girls

The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches released its pre-Christmas rankings on Monday, and several local teams are prominently featured.
Bowie, coming off a tough loss to Iowa Park on Friday night, moved up to 12th place in the Conference 3A boys’ poll.
In the Conference 3A girls’ poll, Bowie sits in 19th spot with a 12-4 mark. The Lady Rabbits have played a sandpaper-tough schedule this season.
Surprisingly, the Texas Girls Coaches Association poll doesn’t have Bowie ranked at all in Conference 3A.
The Bellevue High School boys are the only team from the area to be ranked, currently 18th in Conference 1A with a 7-5 record.
Atascocita remains atop the Conference 6A boys’ poll at 14-0. Beaumont Central (13-2) is No. 1 in Conference 5A boys. Read more about the poll in the mid-week Bowie News.
