Truck catches on fire

Nocona firefighters battled this large commercial truck blaze on Sunday. It was a large stripe painting truck parked west of Nocona on U.S. 81. There were no injuries and the firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. (Photos by Tanner Roberts)

Accident kills Nocona woman, 3 injured

A 57-year-old Nocona died in a two-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 677 on Aug. 9.
According to the Department of Public Safety report, the accident occurred at 12:35 p.m. on Sunday near mile marker 188 on FM 677.
Jamie Lynn Hunter, Nocona, was driving a 2009 Nissan Sentra southbound on FM 677.
The second vehicle was a 2026 Ford F-350 driven by Eric Leslie Florance, 40, Guthrie, OK who was northbound on FM 677. The report states the Nissan crossed into the northbound lane. Florance attempted to avoid a collision, but was unable to avoid the car.
Hunter was pronounced deceased due to her injuries. Florance and two minor passengers, age 13 and 10, were transported to Nocona General Hospital for minor injuries.
