The Saint Jo High School volleyball program is now actively seeking a new coach.
That’s because during a special work session on Tuesday afternoon, the Wichita Falls Independent School District announced the hiring of Dakota Crockett as volleyball coach at Old High.
Crockett replaces Torri Campbell, who guided the Coyotes to a 22-20 record this past year. Old High qualified for the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade.
“She’s a good coach and knows her stuff,” said Saint Jo athletic director Chad Tallon. “We wish her the best, and I think she will do fine over there.”
Crockett will be jumping from a Conference 1A program to the Conference 5A level.
Tallon said Saint Jo has posted the opening on several websites, and he reported the district has received at least seven applications so far.
It’s expected this will be the first athletics hire under new superintendent Curtis Eldridge, who already has hired personnel in Saint Jo. Read more in the June 18 Bowie News.
