April 4 last day to vote in time for the May 4 election

Published

on

For those interested in voting in the May 4 elections the last day to register to vote is April 4.
The City of Nocona is the only municipal entity to have an election scheduled. There are two places on the city council up for election with three candidates on the ballot. Incumbents Tom Horn and Don C. Davis are running along with Robert Fuller.
Countywide, voters will consider the proposition: “Changing Montague County from Tier 1 county status to Tier 2 county status for purposes of municipal annexation as described by Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code.”

Elections Administrator Ginger Wall said voter registration forms are available at some local post offices and in her office in the courthouse annex. Registration must be done in person and be in her office by April 4.
Forms are available on the county website at: co.montague.tx.us/page/montague.FormsInfo. Citizens also may check their voter registration status on that website.

Applications for a ballot by mail for the May 4 elections also are now being accepted. Those forms also are available on the website. Wall said a completed form must be received by her office by April 23, adding that means in her office, not postmarked.
