Court may decide on building Monday

Published

on

Montague County Commissioners are expected to move forward with planning the abatement procedure for the damaged building on the courthouse square when the court meets at 9 a.m. on April 8.
It has been a whirlwind few months for county officials as they have attempted to legally deal with the structure which has been deemed unsafe.
Commissioner Bob Langford of precinct four has been coordinating the demolition of the building, and after meeting the second deadline on March 31 he was ready to put it all together as quickly as possible so it can be taken down. The 1884 building was structurally damaged when a pickup truck drove into it catching the truck and building on fire and killing the driver last August. Read the full story in the weekend Bowie News.
