Wanda Gean Adams

Grandfield, OK – Wanda Gean Adams, 83, passed away May 18, 2022 in Wichita Falls.
Visitation was from 6 – 8 p.m. on May 25 at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters, OK. A funeral service officiated by Justin Cardwell was at 10:30 a.m. on May 26 at the First Baptist Church in Devol followed by a graveside service at Devol Cemetery.
Wanda was born in Temple, OK on Nov. 24, 1938 to Wilson and Holly Mann. She married William Irvin Adams on Aug. 1, 1958 in Wichita Falls. Wanda attended Temple Independent School District before getting married and becoming a homemaker. She and Irvin spent the last 63 years farming and ranching.
Wanda loved all types of hobbies like crocheting, drawing and painting oil paintings, quilting and making porcelain dolls. She also had a variety of collectables that she loved. She was known as the best pie maker among her family and she loved to bake. Wanda’s biggest passion in life was the love she had for all of her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wilson Mann Jr. and daughter, Shelia Dunn.
She is survived by her husband Irvin Adams, Grandfield; sons, Darrell Adams, Grandfield and Danny and wife Susan Adams, Bowie; siblings, Carrie Step, Comanche, Dena and Gene Prince, Baton Rouge and Bobbie Mann, Temple, OK; grandchildren, Jason and wife Sheila Adams, Devol, Amanda and husband Jimmy Reyes, Bowie, Katrina and husband Danny Lassus, New Orleans, Jarred and wife Cody, Grandfield, Nona and Brad Laminack, Devol, Karrie and Mike Whaley, Randlett, OK, Aaron Adams, La Porte, TX, Melody and husband Tyler Sutton, Bowie, John Robert Adams, Lawton, Cole and Jenna Adams, Wichita Falls; 28 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and numerous loved nieces, nephews and extended family.

BOWIE – Carla Renae Jackson-Monceaux, 61, died on Dec. 3, 2023 in Friendswood, TX.
A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Dec. 9 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Stoneburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery on Saturday.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1963 in Bowie to Bobby and Bonnie (Lewis) Jackson. She graduated from La Porte High School in 1982.
She is preceded in death by her son, Brian Keith Monceaux; grandparents, Cordie and Ruby Lewis, and Monroe and Ruby Jackson; parents, Bob and Bonnie Jackson and sister, Ruby Jackson-Dillard.
She is survived by her daughter, Kari Ann Wilson; three brothers, James David Jackson, Cordy Lee Jackson, Corey Dee Jackson, La Porte; and numerous nieces and two nephews.

BOWIE – Edna Marie Sanders, 87, passed away on Dec. 4, 2023 in Bowie, TX.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 6 at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
A graveside service was at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Lindale Cemetery in Bowie with Pastor Gregg Shaw officiating.
Edna was born on May 6, 1936 to the late Leonard and Hattie (Lentz) Roth. On June 24, 1956, she married M.L. “Buster” Sanders at the Lutheran Church in Bowie. Edna loved to cook and sew. Her kitchen table was always open to visit or serve anyone. She was a “fixer,” whether it was a broken heart, a torn pair of jeans or just a needed phone conversation, Edna will be remembered for always being there for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Buster Sanders; her parents; sisters, Pauline Lineberger and Lois Stover, and son-in-law, Charles Patterson.
Edna is survived by her children, Joe Sanders and wife Ann, Connie Patterson, Deryl Sanders and wife Linda, and Mike Sanders and wife Charmie, all of Bowie; grandchildren, Terri, Jamie, Ashley, Meagan, Bethany, Ali, Levi, Augie and Mitch; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Knobloch, Seymour, Viola Robinson Sunset and Doris Long, Bowie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

BOWIE – Wanda Louise Trotter Wood, 92, died on Nov. 29, 2023.
The family will receive friends from from 2 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the White Family Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Dec. 4 at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie with Randall Templin officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
She was born on Aug. 31, 1931 in Vashti to William Lester and Lula Elizabeth (Williams) Trotter. On March 7, 1947 she married John Henry Wood Jr. in Henrietta. The couple were together just shy of 65 years, before his passing in 2012. She worked as a lifelong seamstress, sold Avon products and dedicated more than 10 years to Haggar-Slack Company making jeans.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Lenora Trotter and Nell Jones; brothers, Odis Harold and Darrell Trotter; her husband, John Henry Wood Jr.; son, Roger Dale Wood; and grandsons, John Charles Wood and Joseph Chance Wood.
She is survived by her three sons, Clifton Wood, Riverside, CA, Kenneth Wood, Crafton and Alan Wood, Bowie; a daughter-in-law; sisters, Elaine Scruggs, Frances Richey and Margie Turnbow; brother, Carol Trotter; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
