Four injured in accident

Four people were transported to Medical City Decatur following a two-vehicle accident at 11:13 a.m. on June 14 at State Highway 59 and Nelson Street.
Gerald Dwain Engledow, Bowie, was driving a 2013 Honda Ridgeline south on Hwy 59 North. The police report states the driver was having a medical emergency and swerved into the opposite lane of traffic and struck a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Harold Kent Jones, Bowie.
The Honda came to rest after making contract with a city of Bowie utility pole on the corner of Hwy. 59N and Nelson Street. The pickup came to rest in front of Linda’s Playhouse. Both vehicles had a drive and passenger, and all were transported by Bowie EMS to Medical City Decatur by Bowie EMS with possible injuries.

A BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in effect for City of Bowie, TX water customers along Highway 81 from Parker Road to Old Bowie Lake. Affected customers should use bottled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth. Results of water testing should be available shortly after noon today. If the testing is good, the BOIL WATER NOTICE may be lifted shortly thereafter

Repairs prompt boil order

A boil water order was implemented Monday afternoon for the area served at U.S. Highway 81 from Parker Drive to Old Bowie Lake as water line repairs were made. The order remains in place today. If you are affected by this order and need bottled water call 940-977-4941.
