Fenoglio returns to Nocona Council to fill vacancy
After declaring a council position vacant due to the lack of attendance by the member, the Nocona City Council bought back an old friend naming Robert Fenoglio to fill the vacancy.
City Secretary Revell Hardison said the position held by Rob Norman was deemed vacant per local government code after he failed to attend the last five meetings. Councilor Jazmin Quil made the motion to appoint Fenoglio to the position, which led to a unanimous vote and the new councilor was sworn in.
Norman was appointed in November to fill out the term of Christopher Nunneley who ran for mayor and won. The term run through November 2026. Norman was arrested on March 2 on two charges, injury to a child and continuous violence against the family. Both are third degree felonies.
Fenoglio spent a total of 28 years on the city council including 18 as mayor, and he opted not to run for mayor in November retiring from city service. The former mayor thanked the council for having him back.

Bowie Water plant to begin summer chlorine coversion
The annual summer chlorine conversion at the City of Bowie Water Treatment Plant will run Aug. 6 to Sept. 5.
Jerry Sutton, plant supervisor, said customers may notice some minor odor and taste issues with the water during this period as the treatment system changes disinfectant. This is a yearly state mandate for the conversion. Questions may be directed to the water plant at 940-872-6414
The plant uses a combination of ammonia and chlorine called chloramines. Across a period of time those ingredients build up in the system and it takes a change to straight chlorine across 28 days to clear it out. At the end of 30 days the water should return to normal.
