The 63rd annual Chisholm Trail Rodeo is set for 8 p.m. on June 12-13 at the Chisholm Trail Rodeo Arena in Nocona.
“It’s a huge tradition in the community,” Nocona Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Joni Coursey said. “It’s the longest running event we have in Nocona.”
Coursey said there is something on the card for the whole family.
The event is one of the highlights of the calendar year.
There will be mutton bustin’ on both nights for children six years old and under, with rides starting at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets cost $6 in advance and $8 at the gate. Children six years old and under are admitted free with a paid adult.
Tickets may be purchased at Gibbs Pharmacy and the chamber office.
Chisholm Trail Rodeo committee member Stepheny Womack said this is an open, unsanctioned rodeo. The purse for the event is $3,500. Read more in the mid-week Bowie News.

Saint Jo rodeo

The Saint Jo rodeo, sponsored by the Saint Jo Riding Club, took place this past weekend.
Here are the results, according to the United Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (UPRA) web site. The UPRA was the sanctioning body for the event.
As is Bowie News policy, the amount of winnings for individual contestants will go unreported.
