OUTDOORS: Sign up for River Bend Center programs

Registration is underway for summer programs at River Bend Nature Center in Wichita Falls.
Camps run 8:30 a.m. until noon Monday through Friday. These camps are for children ages four through 12 years of age.
June 29-July 3 – Roar for Dinosaurs
July 13-17 – CSI: Critter Science Investigation
July 27-31 – Super Duper Science Laboratory
Aug. 10-14 – Go-Go Robots
Sessions cost $70 for members and $80 for non-members.

Youth Arts Contest

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is having its annual Youth Arts Contest.
The contest encourages young people to get outside and share their outdoor experiences through many media: art, writing, photography, video and music.
Prizes include digital cameras, camcorders, art supplies and more.
The contest will through Nov. 1, and youth 19 years old and under can enter works of art inspired by the natural beauty of any state park.
This contest is made possible by the TPWD’s Arts in the Parks program. There also will be art workshops for kids and adults scheduled through the rest of the year.
