HIGH SCHOOL FISHING: Bowie anglers compete Saturday

The Bowie High School bass fishing team will be competing at the Lake Ray Hubbard tournament on April 9.
The tournament will originate from the Bass Pro Shops in Garland.
Saturday check-in is set for 4 a.m. Teams are allowed to leave the ramp of their choice at 6:30 a.m. Weigh-in is set from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
For largemouth and smallmouth bass, the minimum length limit is 14 inches. There is no minimum length for Guadalupe or spotted bass. The bag limit is five fish.
Lane Hopson will be fishing alone this weekend. Hopson, along with usual fishing partner Hadley Morgan, are currently seventh in the angler of the year standings.
The team of Mitch Sanders and Jared Stone is 45th overall and Kollin Gillaspia and Jeramy Stone sit 102nd out of 238 teams, so all the Jackrabbits are among the upper half of two-person tandems. Read more in the April 6 Bowie News.
