HIGH SCHOOLS: Holliday whacks Nocona

The Nocona High School softball team headed into the fifth inning of their Tuesday night’s home game against Holliday with the score deadlocked at 9-all.
It appeared the team had a shot at winning their first District 3A-9 game of the season; but, it was not meant to be as the Lady Eagles ended up the victor with a 19-12 score.
On the positive side, every girl in the Nocona lineup scored.
Karlie Pepper, who officially signed with MidAmerica Nazarene University in Kansas on Thursday, scored twice and went 4-for-5 with four RBIs, two doubles and a triple.
Kinley Hansard and Karlee Keck also pushed across two runs apiece for the Lady Indians. Sherese Price doubled as part of a 2-for-5 game, and Hansard also hit a double as Nocona rapped out a 13-hit attack.
The teams combined for 18 runners left on base.
