HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Bowie rises to 21st in 3A poll

The Bowie High School baseball team moved up to 21st spot in the latest txhighschoolbaseball.com poll.
The Jackrabbits improved to 19-7-1 after a 25-5 victory over Nocona on Monday evening.
Bowie also received votes in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association poll.
The .com poll was released on Monday, and the coaches association came out on April 21.
West, the defending state champion in Conference 3A, was the leader in both of the polls.
Shallowater was second in the .com poll and Central Heights second in the association poll.
In the association poll, Jim Ned was fourth, Van Alstyne fifth, Clyde eighth and Palmer also received votes.
Bowie and Palmer faced each other in the area round of the 2015 playoffs.
In the .com poll, Van Alstyne sits fifth, Wall eighth, Gunter ninth, Brock 14th, Sunnyvale 17th, Clyde 18th and Palmer 25th. Read more in the April 27 Bowie News.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
